Non-accredited Training Courses

Introduction to Incident Management Course

The Introduction to Incident Management Course is a one day introductory and awareness course designed for professionals who have minimal or no prior experience within emergency and incident management.  Participants will be introduced to underpinning principles, processes and functions of incident control systems.  The course is ideal for those who provide a support capacity to those who undertake specific roles within incidents.  The course is led by a facilitator in a workshop style and includes theory, use of case studies, group work and activities.  There are no pre-requisites for this course.

This course is not nationally accredited training.  It is suitable for individuals and organisations who do not require accredited training, formal assessments or a certificate for Statement of Attainment.  Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.  It is a cost-effective but valuable alternative to accredited training courses in emergency and incident management.

Please contact FutureWest Institute if you would like further information about the Introduction to Incident Management Course.

Level 1 and Level 2 Incident Management and Incident Controller Training Courses (non-accredited versions)

Any of our nationally recognised training courses can be adapted into a non-accredited version.  Requests  for non-accredited versions of our Level 1 (one day course) and Level 2 Incident Management Courses (3 day course) are popular.  The Incident Controller Training course can also be delivered over 1-2 days depending on whether an exercise scenario is included in the training.  This means shorter training days, no formal assessments are required, no formal enrolment processes are required and also a much more cost-effective option is provided.  Non-accredited training courses are suitable for those organisations where:
  • staff have limited time to commit to training away from their daily general duties
  • essential parts of relevant content are still being delivered to staff members
  • staff are still exposed to an exercise scenario customised to an incident likely to happen in their workplace
  • staff are not under pressure to perform within formal assessment conditions during in-class training delivery
  • staff are not committed to completing any post-course formal assessments after classes have finished.
Non-accredited course versions, however, mean your staff members are not formally assessed and no Statements of Attainment are issued, although a certificate of attendance will be provided.

Please contact FutureWest Institute if you would like further information about non-accredited training courses suitable to your organisational requirements.
