The author
James Thomson grew up in Western Australia's South West and Eastern Goldfields. He served in the WA Police Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He has completed two Master's Degrees and is the Director of a Registered Training Organisation focused on emergency management. James has also worked as a university lecturer, management consultant and training manager and facilitator. He has practised martial arts for over thirty years, earning two black belts, one of which is in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the Jean Jacques Machado BJJ Perth Academy. He resides with his wife and son in Perth, WA.
